What is EMDR/Natural Processing?
The mind can often heal itself naturally, in the same way the body does. Most of the time your mind and body naturally manage new information and experiences without your conscious awareness. However when something out of the ordinary occurs that is overwhelming, like a car accident, an ongoing stress or childhood traumas, your natural abilities to manage these stresses can be overloaded. These experiences then become frozen in your brain and your body. These unprocessed memories sit quietly in the background, influencing the choices you make in life. You have painful feelings which linger and manifest themselves in many ways such as anxiety, and depression, and often get repeatedly triggered. Your ability to live in the present and learn from new experiences can therefore become inhibited.
